Quote When life sucks June 18 Update~ I just realized that I've abandoned my MSN space once again @@ all right, just to update~ Finally, I'm clearer about what does that mean to be a graduate student. I played a lot, and quite relaxed in the my first year here. But right now, when I have to face the thesis, various presentations and posters, conferences and my own publications, I suddenly found it's not funny to be in graduate school, it's about my job! It's a blooding change, a good one though :). I always enjoy the process of thinking of a brilliant idea or task to test with babies, and I'm very exciting to play with children and babies in the lab. But that's just the tiny part of research. What matters more is reading, building your theoretical background, sharping your communication abilities both in speaking and writing. I was too obsessed in the playing part, ignoring the most important things. Anyway, I'm catching up~! Next week, I'm going to have 4 babies in the lab for my pilot~ Hooray~! Hopefully everything would be on the road this summer :). I do want the academia career now. But there is a long way to go. A book recommended: Animals in Translation (refer to my reading list) It's an amazing book written by a autistic author. She has talents to communicate with animals, and this autistic "talents" helped her to figure out many problems encountered by the ranchers. You would find it attractive and totally mind fresh~ :) March 01 all about damned subscription I've made 2 mistakes and money losses up to now, both are caused by the damned "subscription" First, I'm not sure when and how I made a on-line network purchase through my cellphone. Anyhow, it charged me automatically 22$ each month! Because it's automatically subscription! And I just realized it yesterday! but it has charged me for 3 month @@ Second, once I logged into the facebook profile, and there was an advertisement about a production, which sounded interesting, and more important, it provided us a free trial~ why not have a try then~? So, I fill in my personal information (I did trust facebook before, since so many people are in this network), including my credit information. And after that I checked my credit account to check whether it was fraud or not. For a long time, it did not charged me, it was really free. So, I paid no attention to this anymore. But today, when I check my credit activity, it charged me 84$ on 2.16, almost 2 month after i filled in my personal information on line!!! Again, the production is automatically subscription. To the first problem, I've contacted my cellphone company to make a dispute on this charging. They will reimburse me some money, at least for one month. To the second problem...... I'll contact my credit company tomorrow to argue about the implicit subscription. It's really frustrating, the automatic subscription stuff.... It makes you lose money (sometime a large amount to me) even without your explicit consciousness or approval! I will never ever do that again! Just to remind my friends. Be aware of this damned subscription stuff, and keep yourself away from it, always. Good luck to you guys, and good luck to myself... I only could console myself that it's lucky for me to realize it before it makes a huge amount of loss.... Jin is right, if you choose the right time, youku will be fast and excellent to watch all the episodes you can't find in America for free :D. lalala Anyway, work hard & relax crazy~ November 21 Canon卡片机到啦～ hohohoho 好快呀～ 周二定的，昨天下午就到了～ 刚拿到手上，比我想的cute很多～ 网上买的两本书也到啦～ 都是小说…… 买的唯一一本专业相关的书还在路上…… 所以，最近的生活以相机和小说为主～～ 加上今天新上映的两部电影（bolt 和 twilight，期待很久了！）！！！哈哈，幸福 wait a minute @@，我一个月前就计划动手的final projects要什么时候才能开始呢……………… November 18 疯狂给mac装软件 恩，今天给我的macbook疯狂的装上了5+的小软件 主要是被fetion的正性反馈给刺激了，以至于难以停止 更主要的原因是……越是麻烦的东西，我就越不想开始……所以找各种周边玩意儿让自己“忙”…… 哈哈 anyway, 现在我的mac更炫啦～～～ 又有了好多新东西 呵呵 从fetion到美国的sms电脑发送软件 从本本上的stickies到多个dock相互切换的功能 从文件整理的mac“优化大师”到3种pdf阅读软件…… 我一定是疯了…… 而且还买了一部卡片机…… 学术去！！！！ 恩，这才是能让我静下来的王道阿～ 虽然看Leslie的文章也经常激动到坐立不安～呵呵，不过这种感觉比现在的疯狂感好太多了……！ November 10 meet with Marc Hauser We are going to meet with Marc Hauser this week~!!!!!! so excited, the handsome brilliant guy I've yyed for a long time @@  Thanks a lot to Alan~! but I've to read these related papers within today... +U another problem is... my speaking English is still as suck as I came 555555555555 anyway, write it down for memorizing~ hope we have pleasurable surprise everyday in our life~! :D November 08 Talking about YouTube - Sneezing PandaNovember 03 今天第一次尝试了打壁球～ 本来还是去跑步的，进去发现人太多，干脆玩玩壁球～ 不过，没有预先约好同伴，只好一个人打（也好，这样就不会丢人了……呵呵呵） 然，一个人打壁球的感觉就像～～ 自己逗着自己玩～ 确切的说是逗着自己追着球跑圈圈…… 还把自己累到半死…… 时间比跑步短，但是最后连喝水的力气都没了…… anyway，以后运动项目又增加一个啦～～～不错不错 :D 明天大选就over啦～ 东部时间晚上6点，恩 感觉Obama会赢～ 他真的很能说，很会煽情，看上去很诚恳 他主页上的视频把我都感动哭了……呵呵 发个链接，感兴趣的大家可以去听听看～ :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHNZ-gea-8k&feature=related youtube上的，官网上的找不到了，天天都在变ms…… 还有些别的～ http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1774293990/bclid416330929/bctid1797097875 or http://www.barackobama.com/tv/ (如果需要输入zip code，就输08854～) enjoy :) November 02 看文献烦了 真的烦了，想这个东西想到头痛，关键还陷入瓶颈了555 要不要直接把想不通的问题发给老板，让老板烦去呢？ 我不想再看到这个东西了……但是已然有sunk cost了，毕竟已经付出了这么多脑细胞！！！哼唧的…… 烦死了，我喜欢到幼儿园做实验，不喜欢蹲在屋里看文献想背后的原理阿、机制阿、模型阿。。。。。 一看就不能成为一个好的faculty 恩，开始慎重考虑这个问题 师姐说，怎么样才能找到自己的passion呢？ 最简单的办法是，想想你在做什么事情的时候自我感觉最好，心情舒畅，不觉得厌恶 anyway，这个东西相对算好的了……毕竟我看了一周多，想不出来了才烦的 想想看Developmental Cognitive Process上看的东西，每一篇文献都看到我想死…… 哈哈，这么想就知足了——至少我没选择那个方向～ 心情好多了～:P 恩，看来把烦躁的心情写出来还是很不错的发泄哟～ :) 回到这个死问题上，我打算发给老板烦去～ 嘻嘻嘻 October 28 第一场雪 恩，配合一下快来的万圣节，把背景改成南瓜～ 周末去shopping的时候，开到满商店都是各种骷髅和鬼衣服，很有气氛地说～ 特别想实际参加一次～体验体验 :) 实验室的小本科跟我讲了半天football的规则，下次实地看一场去～ 虽然不一定喜欢，呵呵 然后，回到主题，今天下了第一场雪 可以想见冬天不好过阿……555 弄得我都不想出门不敢去gym了……我要运动！！！ 恩，逛facebook的时候发现实验室的师姐竟然是白羊座～！！ 这样一来，我们整个组就火死了～ 老板是狮子的，师姐是白羊的，而我是射手的……哈哈，火拼起～ :D 事情说完了，写点心情 从上周末开始感受到这边的无聊……恩 到处很干净舒适，但是景色千篇一律 运动设施很全很方便，但是没有“集体”在五四跑步锻炼的那种乐趣了 虽然mall很大很集中，可是没有尧尧，hoho，小覃，逛街就只是逛街了…… 所以，我做了一个决定，要给自己找点新的爱好～～ 然后我想到了很帅很绅士的zollo～（原型可参考电影佐罗的面具，爱死了里面的霍普金森！） 所以，我想学剑～～～～～！！有会的或者知道谁会的，告诉我一声哈～～ btw，周一花了两个多小时，终于把电视给搬回来啦～～～ 也许它来的正是时候…… anyway，不断有新刺激总是好的～:) 新日志 好久没来了 写点新东西 今天跟一堆朋友吃了两顿的火锅，爽！ 结果发现剩了一大堆菜，下周估计都够了…… 明天去纽约看苏老师～ 啦啦啦 准备一个人出门，恩！bless不要迷路…… 老板跟夫人今天去了Cambridge 他被正式收为院士啦～散花～～ gx老板，呵呵 he definitely deserves this! 希望能跟着自己敬仰的人做出些让自己满意的成绩～:D 上周去了acadia，好心情一直持续到现在～ 烦得时候确实该出去走走～ 希望以后也能找到这样的朋友们一起出行！ |
