September 23 zz: Talking about When life sucks
Quote When life sucks June 18 Update~ I just realized that I've abandoned my MSN space once again @@ all right, just to update~ Finally, I'm clearer about what does that mean to be a graduate student. I played a lot, and quite relaxed in the my first year here. But right now, when I have to face the thesis, various presentations and posters, conferences and my own publications, I suddenly found it's not funny to be in graduate school, it's about my job! It's a blooding change, a good one though :). I always enjoy the process of thinking of a brilliant idea or task to test with babies, and I'm very exciting to play with children and babies in the lab. But that's just the tiny part of research. What matters more is reading, building your theoretical background, sharping your communication abilities both in speaking and writing. I was too obsessed in the playing part, ignoring the most important things. Anyway, I'm catching up~! Next week, I'm going to have 4 babies in the lab for my pilot~ Hooray~! Hopefully everything would be on the road this summer :). I do want the academia career now. But there is a long way to go. A book recommended: Animals in Translation (refer to my reading list) It's an amazing book written by a autistic author. She has talents to communicate with animals, and this autistic "talents" helped her to figure out many problems encountered by the ranchers. You would find it attractive and totally mind fresh~ :) March 01 all about damned subscription I've made 2 mistakes and money losses up to now, both are caused by the damned "subscription" First, I'm not sure when and how I made a on-line network purchase through my cellphone. Anyhow, it charged me automatically 22$ each month! Because it's automatically subscription! And I just realized it yesterday! but it has charged me for 3 month @@ Second, once I logged into the facebook profile, and there was an advertisement about a production, which sounded interesting, and more important, it provided us a free trial~ why not have a try then~? So, I fill in my personal information (I did trust facebook before, since so many people are in this network), including my credit information. And after that I checked my credit account to check whether it was fraud or not. For a long time, it did not charged me, it was really free. So, I paid no attention to this anymore. But today, when I check my credit activity, it charged me 84$ on 2.16, almost 2 month after i filled in my personal information on line!!! Again, the production is automatically subscription. To the first problem, I've contacted my cellphone company to make a dispute on this charging. They will reimburse me some money, at least for one month. To the second problem...... I'll contact my credit company tomorrow to argue about the implicit subscription. It's really frustrating, the automatic subscription stuff.... It makes you lose money (sometime a large amount to me) even without your explicit consciousness or approval! I will never ever do that again! Just to remind my friends. Be aware of this damned subscription stuff, and keep yourself away from it, always. Good luck to you guys, and good luck to myself...
